About Us

Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain started in Lakeway in 2008 with the mission to be Your Trusted Neighborhood Plumber; to provide a high quality and trusted service at a reasonable price. With that goal in mind, we have decided to partner with like-minded plumbing companies to bring our mentality and approach to other parts of our Austin community.

Tim Kinsey, the owner and operator of Tim Kinsey Plumbing, partnered with Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain in November 2023 to take a step back from daily operations and ownership responsibilities to regain some time with his wife, remove some of the stresses of ownership, and to regain the responsibilities Tim enjoys most about plumbing—training the next generation of plumbers and building relationships with builders, contractors, and homeowners.

Tim is a master plumber who comes from a long line of master plumbers (his father as well as his brothers, uncles, and son), and Tim is now the RMP (Responsible Master Plumber) of the combined Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain plumbing company. He is a lot more relaxed nowadays—just don’t call him on Friday; that’s the new start to his weekend.

Steve Brittain, the owner and operator of Brittain Plumbing, partnered with Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain in August 2024, after running Brittain Plumbing since 1985. Brittain Plumbing was one of the first plumbing companies in Georgetown, and has been a pillar in the community since. Steve and his wife sold to Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain, and although his wife has started enjoying retirement, Steve is a restless soul who does not have an end date in mind. By his design, you will still find Steve running his own truck and working five days a week, although at some point, that number might decrease to allow for more golf. Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain will keep Steve as long as Steve wants to keep working.

Together, Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain has more reach across the Austin-Round Rock-Georgetown MSA, with offices in Georgetown, Lakeway, and South Austin, as well as a larger staff to handle more volume and more complicated jobs.

Look for the Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain family to go through changes—mostly unbeknownst to customers, other than the obvious name changes—while keeping the same employees, vehicles, and commitment to customers. Regardless of the company or the tagline, each company that comprises what is now known as Neighborhood Plumbing & Drain always had the intention to be Your Trusted Neighborhood Plumber, and that mission will not change.
